Never Forgotten Animal Society, a long-standing animal rescue serving Nye County and surrounding Southern Nevada communities, is kicking off the new year with an adoption incentive aimed at helping adult dogs find homes.
From January 1 through January 31, adoption fees for adult dogs six months and older are reduced by $50 at the organization’s Pahrump facility, located at 3091 N. David Street. The effort is designed to spotlight dogs that are often overlooked in favor of puppies, despite being well-suited for families, seniors, and first-time adopters.
A Rescue With Deep Roots in Pahrump
Never Forgotten Animal Society has been operating in Pahrump for decades, providing shelter, rehabilitation, and adoption services for homeless and abandoned animals in a largely rural region where resources are limited and intake needs are high.
Founded as a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring animals are not forgotten in underserved communities, the organization has grown into a critical safety net for dogs and cats in Nye County. Its work includes intake from owner surrenders, strays, and emergency situations, as well as basic medical care, spay and neuter coordination, and adoption placement.
Why Adult Dog Adoptions Matter
Adult dogs often remain in shelters longer than puppies, even though their personalities are already established and their energy levels can be a better match for many households. Reduced-fee adoption events like this one help remove financial barriers while encouraging adopters to consider dogs who may already be house-trained, socialized, and past the demanding puppy stage.
The January adoption promotion applies only to dogs six months and older and runs through the end of the month, subject to availability and standard adoption approval processes.
Ongoing Need for Community Support
In addition to adoptions, Never Forgotten Animal Society relies heavily on community involvement to continue its work. The organization regularly seeks volunteers to help with daily care, enrichment, cleaning, and events, as well as foster homes for animals who benefit from temporary placement outside the shelter environment.
Supporters can also assist through donations, supplies, and sharing adoptable animals within their networks, helping expand visibility beyond Pahrump into the greater Southern Nevada region.
Looking Ahead
As shelters across Nevada continue to face capacity challenges, efforts like Never Forgotten Animal Society’s January adoption promotion play an important role in creating space for incoming animals while giving adult dogs a better chance at permanent homes.
