Animal Foundation’s “Find Your One” Event Placed 90 Pets in New Homes
Ninety dogs and cats walked out of The Animal Foundation with new families on Saturday, May 16, during the Las Vegas shelter’s one-day “Find Your One” adoption event. Adoption fees were waived for every shelter animal, from puppies and kittens to adult dogs and cats, thanks to sponsorship from Credit One Bank.
The event ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the shelter’s Lied campus at 655 N. Mojave Road. Officials confirmed the 90-pet total in a Monday update reported by Fox5 Vegas.
Credit One Bank covered the full cost of every adoption, removing the standard fees that can be a barrier for some families. The bank’s broader partnership with The Animal Foundation also funds lost-and-found pet services, low-cost vaccines, and the shelter’s flagship Best in Show event.
Saturday’s results come just days after the shelter wrapped its run with BISSELL Pet Foundation’s nationwide “Empty the Shelters” campaign, which waived fees on adult dogs over 30 pounds from May 3 through May 13. That event is covered in the site’s earlier Empty the Shelters spotlight.
The back-to-back fee-waived weekends matter because Southern Nevada shelters have been under sustained pressure this spring. The Animal Foundation is the highest-volume single-site animal shelter in the country, taking in roughly 40,000 lost, homeless, and surrendered animals each year. Saturday’s intake of 90 placements offers a modest but meaningful reduction to a kennel population that includes 31 dogs held as evidence in the Working Dogs of Nevada criminal case.
Adopters who missed Saturday can still browse adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens on The Animal Foundation’s website. Standard adoption fees apply outside fee-waived events, and the shelter continues to accept foster applications, donations, and supply contributions.
