The Animal Foundation is offering free adoptions for all pets, including puppies and kittens, this Saturday and Sunday as part of its No Place Like Home event, sponsored by MetLife Pet Insurance.
The event runs June 27 and June 28 at the shelter’s location at 655 N. Mojave Road. Walk-in adoptions are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
Because large crowds are expected, prospective adopters are encouraged to browse available pets online at animalfoundation.com before arriving.
A virtual waitlist opens each morning at 8 a.m. via a QR code posted on the adoption lobby door.
Fee-waived adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. A $10 license fee may apply.
The timing comes as The Animal Foundation works through one of its busiest intake periods of the year.
As we reported earlier this month, the shelter took in more than 1,100 animals in the first two weeks of June alone, prompting emergency foster drives and a push to move animals out as quickly as possible.
A few things to know before heading over: no holds are placed on any pet, current pets should not be brought to the shelter, and in-shelter dog-to-dog introductions are not available during the event.
