Las Vegas Halloween Pack Walk: Dress Up Your Pup for a Spooky Evening at Cadence Park

Halloween in Las Vegas isn’t just for people — this year, your dog gets to join the celebration too. On Thursday, October 24th at 6 p.m., Sky Dogs Training and Penny’s Puppy Training are hosting a special Halloween Pack Walk at Cadence Park, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most fun (and educational) dog events of the season. For just $20 per household, you and your pup can take part in a guided evening walk complete with training exercises, socialization opportunities, and even a costume contest. It’s a great way to get out, enjoy the cooler fall weather, and make new canine and human friends — all while learning a few new tricks along the way.

What the Pack Walk Includes

The event begins at the “It All Starts Here” marker in Cadence Park, where participants will gather before heading out together. The evening is structured to balance activity with hands-on training, so it’s a great fit for dogs of all experience levels. The first 10 minutes are devoted to engagement time with your pup — a chance to focus their attention, reinforce calm behavior, and set a positive tone before the walk begins. From there, the group will move into the first 15-minute walking segment, giving dogs the opportunity to adjust to the rhythm of a structured pack walk surrounded by other dogs and owners.

After the initial walk, trainers from Sky Dogs and Penny’s Puppy Training will lead a short 10-minute training exercise designed to challenge both dogs and owners in a fun, supportive way. You’ll learn new techniques that can improve your communication with your dog while keeping things lighthearted and enjoyable. The walk then resumes for another 15 minutes before a second stop, where the trainers will introduce a brand-new “party trick” — something simple but sure to impress friends and family the next time you’re handing out treats. The evening wraps up with an optional group photo, giving everyone the chance to capture the memory (and show off those costumes).

The Costume Contest

It wouldn’t be Halloween without costumes, and this pack walk makes sure your dog gets to join in on the fun. All participants are encouraged to dress up their pups — the more creative, the better. From classic pumpkins and ghosts to matching owner-and-dog duos, costumes are a big part of the event’s festive atmosphere. There will even be a costume contest with goodies for the winner, so feel free to go all out. Whether your pup arrives as a superhero, a taco, or a tiny vampire, this is their moment to shine under the Halloween moonlight.

Rules and Guidelines

To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, organizers have laid out a few ground rules. All dogs must remain on a leash at all times, and retractable leashes are not permitted — this helps prevent tangling or sudden lunging during group movement. Owners should always ask before allowing their dogs to greet another participant, as not all pups are comfortable with close contact. The event is a no-solicitation zone, meaning attendees should refrain from promoting or selling services of any kind.

One of the best parts of this event is that dogs of all temperaments are welcome. If your pup is shy, reactive, or simply prefers extra space, just let the organizers know in advance so they can plan accordingly. The trainers are experienced with handling a variety of personalities and want to make sure every dog can participate safely. Attendees should also bring their own water, treats, and poop bags, and be respectful of different training approaches. It’s a great environment for learning from others, sharing experiences, and reinforcing positive behaviors without judgment.

Cost and Family-Friendly Details

Participation costs just $20 per household, which covers the entire family — two-legged and four-legged members alike. That means you can bring your partner, kids, and multiple dogs (as long as they’re well-managed) without paying extra. The event is designed to be community-focused, combining fun, structure, and inclusivity. It’s a wonderful way to connect with other local dog owners, support small businesses in the Las Vegas dog training community, and give your pup some structured socialization time in a safe setting.

Why You Should Join

Pack walks like this one are more than just a group stroll — they’re a chance to strengthen your bond with your dog in a controlled, social environment. Walking together as part of a pack can help reduce reactivity, improve leash manners, and build confidence for both you and your pet. Add in the festive Halloween theme, the friendly trainers, and a touch of competition with the costume contest, and you’ve got an event that’s equal parts training session, social outing, and holiday celebration.
