# Golden Knights Star Mitch Marner Launches Points for Paws to Feed Nevada SPCA Pets

Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner has launched a season-long campaign that will donate 100 pet meals to the Nevada SPCA for every point he records, [reports Fox5 Las Vegas](https://www.fox5vegas.com/2026/09/26/points-paws-golden-knights-forward-mitch-marner-partners-with-nulo-feed-shelter-animals/).

 

Marner and his wife, Stephanie, visited the shelter on Friday to spend time with the animals and kick off the initiative, called Points for Paws. The Knights open their season Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena.

 

The meals are being donated by pet food company Nulo through the Marner Assist Foundation. Marner recorded 80 points last season, which would translate to 8,000 meals if he matches that total.

 

Marner is the first Nevada athlete partnered with Nulo. He has a dog of his own named Zeus, and the couple said they wanted to help local shelter pets after seeing the Nevada SPCA’s on-site vet clinic.

 

Nevada SPCA Executive Director Lori Heeren said more families in the valley are struggling to afford pet care.

 

She said the shelter’s goal is not only to serve as a safety net for surrendered and homeless pets, but also to keep animals in the homes of the people who love them.

 

Heeren added that the partnership will give Knights games extra meaning for the shelter this season.

 

Nevada SPCA describes itself as Southern Nevada’s original no-kill shelter and also runs a pet food pantry, low-cost microchip clinics, and medical assistance programs for pet owners.

 

Its biggest fundraiser of the fall, the [6th Annual Neon Dog Walk](https://dogfriendlylasvegas.com/dog-news/local-dog-news/nevada-spcas-6th-annual-neon-dog-walk-returns-to-silverado-ranch-park-on-october-17/), is set for Saturday, October 17, at Silverado Ranch Park.
