Nevada SPCA will host its 6th Annual Neon Dog Walk on Saturday, October 17, at Silverado Ranch Park. The event is one of the shelter’s largest fundraisers of the year, with a goal of raising more than $125,000.

Gates and registration open at 3 p.m. at the park, located at 9855 Gillespie Street. The walk itself begins at 4 p.m., and festivities continue through 7 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to wear neon attire for the walk, which supports Nevada SPCA’s shelter operations, medical care, enrichment programs, and adoption services.

The organization also runs a pet food pantry, low cost microchip clinics, and medical assistance programs for pet owners who need help caring for their animals.

“Our Neon Dog Walk has become one of our favorite community traditions because it celebrates the incredible bond between people and their pets while directly helping animals in need,” said Lori Heeren, executive director of Nevada SPCA, according to FOX5 Las Vegas.

Heeren said the shelter relies entirely on community donations to fund its work.

The Neon Village area of the event is open to the public and will include a live DJ, doggie stage contests and prizes, food and beverage vendors, a craft beer garden, and pet friendly vendors.

Every registered participant will receive a commemorative 2026 Neon Dog Walk T-shirt and a wag bag while supplies last.

Nevada SPCA is a local, independent, no-kill animal shelter that has held the Neon Dog Walk annually since 2021, when the event debuted at Sunset Park. It has since grown into one of the shelter’s signature fundraisers and moved to Silverado Ranch Park in recent years.

Standard registration is now $35 per person, since early bird pricing ended in August. Children 12 and under can attend for free, and participants can register individually or as part of a fundraising team, but dogs must be friendly, up to date on vaccinations, and kept on a leash throughout the event.
