# Registration Opens Today for 200 Free Spay and Neuter Surgeries in Reno

Northern Nevada pet owners can start signing up today for 200 free spay and neuter surgeries at a three-day clinic in Reno next month.

 

Registration opens Tuesday, September 22, at 8 a.m. [through the Nevada SPCA’s website](https://spcanevada.org/free-s-n-clinic/).

 

The SPCA of Northern Nevada, Washoe County Regional Animal Services, and Animal Balance are hosting the clinic October 16 through 18 at Washoe County Regional Animal Services, located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno, [reports 2 News Nevada](https://www.2news.com/news/local/free-spay-and-neuter-clinic-coming-to-reno-for-qualifying-pet-owners/article_497432ab-16f2-4131-888f-f32fb5f6f29b.html).

 

Petco Love will provide free vaccines, and the county shelter will provide free microchips alongside the surgeries.

 

Appointments are required, and space is limited to 200 surgeries, so pet owners are encouraged to register as soon as the window opens.

 

To qualify, owners must live in northern Nevada and have a combined household income of $60,000 or less per year.

 

The clinic is open to owned cats and dogs, with dogs limited to 90 pounds or less. Brachycephalic dogs, dogs over 90 pounds, and feral or community cats cannot be served through this event.

 

This is the second joint clinic the three organizations have run together. Last year’s event provided 203 spay and neuter surgeries, 283 vaccines, and 143 microchips to Washoe County pets.
