Viva Taco Fest Brings Tacos, Music and a Chihuahua Pageant to North Las Vegas

Tacos, mariachi music, Halloween festivities and a Chihuahua pageant are coming together for a three-day celebration at Craig Ranch Park. Viva Taco Fest returns to North Las Vegas October 30th through November 1st, bringing a lively mix of food, culture and entertainment — with a special reason for dog lovers to join the fun.

The festival welcomes leashed dogs, and Saturday’s Chihuahua Pageant adds a distinctly canine highlight to the weekend. For local dog owners, it’s a chance to bring their pups along for a cultural celebration while enjoying the food, music and activities that make the festival more than a typical taco outing.

A Chihuahua Pageant Takes Center Stage

Among the festival’s many attractions is the Chihuahua Pageant, a fun addition for fans of the small but spirited breed. Dogs attending the festival must remain leashed, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the event with their four-legged companions while taking in the festivities.

The weekend also includes a Catrina Contest, lucha libre, car shows, carnival rides and the Viva Soccer Invitational. Music is another major draw, with organizers promoting more than 300 mariachis as part of the celebration.

Halloween brings another family-friendly attraction: a free Trunk o’ Treat event on October 31st.

Three Days of Food and Culture

Viva Taco Fest runs Friday, October 30th, through Sunday, November 1st, at Craig Ranch Park, 628 W. Craig Road, in North Las Vegas. Alongside the tacos and live entertainment, visitors can explore the Casa de Agave Tequila Expo and enjoy a weekend celebrating Latin culture, music and food.

For Nevada dog lovers planning to attend with their pets, remember to bring a leash and consider whether your dog will be comfortable around crowds, music and busy festival surroundings. Keeping your pup hydrated and giving them a quieter break when needed can help make the outing more enjoyable for everyone.
