Families and dog lovers can spend an afternoon getting creative while celebrating the positive impact of canine companionship during Crafts and Canines at the Clark County Library on Saturday, September 12th.

 

Held in recognition of Therapy Dog Awareness Month, the free community event will give attendees an opportunity to meet and interact with therapy dogs while creating something that can benefit dogs in need.

 

## Make a Snuffle Mat for a Dog

 

Participants will create snuffle mats, puzzle-like enrichment mats designed to encourage dogs to use their sense of smell while searching for treats or food. The mats can provide mental stimulation and enrichment for dogs and may be made for a participant’s own pet or donated to rescue animals in need.

 

Supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so attendees may want to arrive early to take part in the crafting activity.

 

## Meet Therapy Dogs and Celebrate Their Impact

 

In addition to the hands-on activity, Crafts and Canines will offer attendees the chance to spend time with therapy dogs and learn more about the role these specially trained dogs can play in supporting people and communities.

 

The event highlights the many ways dogs can make a difference, from providing comfort and companionship to inspiring opportunities for community involvement and animal welfare.

 

## A Free Afternoon for Dog Lovers

 

Crafts and Canines takes place at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. The event is free and open to the public.
