**[Paws on the Plaza](https://dogfriendlylasvegas.com/event/paws-on-the-plaza/)** takes place March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Las Vegas City Hall Plaza, bringing together The Animal Foundation and Mayor Shelley Berkley for a community-focused adoption event. Set in the heart of downtown, the event highlights the connection between pets and people while creating opportunities for dogs to meet potential adopters.

## Meet Adoptable Dogs

The Animal Foundation will be on site with a selection of adoptable dogs, giving attendees the chance to interact with them outside of the shelter environment. Events like this help dogs show their personalities in a more relaxed, social setting, often leading to stronger connections and successful adoptions.

## Family-Friendly Activites and Local Resources

In addition to adoption opportunities, the event features a variety of family-friendly activities, along with food and refreshments available on-site. Animal support services and community resources from Animal Protective Services (APS) will also be present, offering helpful information for pet owners and those considering adoption.

## Puppy Costume Parade

One of the highlights of the day is the Puppy Costume Parade Contest, where dogs can show off their most creative, cute, or over-the-top outfits. The parade adds a fun, interactive element to the event, giving pet owners a chance to participate while celebrating their dogs.

## Why It Matters

Paws on the Plaza combines adoption, education, and community engagement in a central, accessible location. Whether attending to adopt, gather resources, or simply spend time around dogs, the event creates meaningful exposure for shelter pets while bringing the community together around animal welfare.
