Legislation created by Northern Nevada Public Health prohibits dogs from entering an establishment. Dogs are allowed in a designated outdoor dining space, like a patio, however, if the restaurant has the required permission (waiver), assuming there’s a dedicated exterior entrance to the area, since the dog can’t be walked through the restaurant to access the outdoor seating area.
The rules also state that employees of the restaurant, including chefs and servers, are prohibited from petting or having contact with the dogs while they’re working, and must immediately wash their hands if contact occurs. This is to preventing the spread of bacteria that could make other diners sick, or from stopping fur and dander from reaching other people in the restaurant who may be allergic to it.
So if you’re looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in Henderson, be warned that the closest you’ll get is a restaurant with patio or outdoor area that allows dogs (i.e. one with a separate exterior entrance with the required permission from Northern Nevada Public Health). Taking your four-legged friend into the restaurant itself simply isn’t an option. But there are plenty of accommodating restaurants with patios.
