We Visited Galaxy Dog Park — Here’s What We Found

Galaxy Park offers a neatly organized dog park setup with separate areas for small and large dogs, giving pet owners some flexibility when choosing the right space for their pets to play. However, while the physical layout of the park is appealing, visitors should be aware that the available amenities currently fall short of expectations.
The dog park at Galaxy Park features two distinct gated areas—one designated for small dogs and one for large dogs. Each area is fully fenced and accessible through its own gate, allowing for a smoother and safer experience when entering and exiting. The size of the runs is generous, providing plenty of room for off-leash play whether your dog prefers full-speed sprints or casual socializing. Having dedicated spaces based on size can help create a more comfortable environment for all types of dogs, particularly for smaller breeds that may feel overwhelmed in a general-use setting.

While the setup of Galaxy Dog Park is promising, the amenities during our visit left something to be desired. Water fountains were not operational, meaning visitors should bring their own water to ensure their dogs stay hydrated—especially important given the Las Vegas heat. In addition, waste bag dispensers were either missing or empty, so it’s essential to bring your own supply of bags to help keep the park clean. These missing basics, while easily manageable with preparation, can be frustrating for visitors expecting a full-service park experience.
Despite these shortcomings, the general cleanliness of the park and the well-maintained fencing create a reasonably secure and usable environment. For those living nearby or seeking a place to let their dogs burn off energy in a more controlled setting, Galaxy Park can still serve as a useful option. However, owners should be prepared for a more hands-on experience, bringing necessary supplies and managing their dog’s hydration needs independently.
