Paws In Charge Launches Holiday Giving Tree to Support Local Rescue

The holiday season is often filled with cheer, but for many local shelters, December brings a surge of animals and a shortage of supplies.
This year, Paws In Charge is leading a community-wide effort to change that with its Holiday Giving Trees, a simple way for Southern Nevadans to support the dogs and cats who need it most.
Running from December 2 through December 21, the Giving Trees invite anyone to donate dog treats or cat food to benefit the Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League (SNARL).
Each $10 donation helps provide essential nourishment and comfort to pets currently in rescue care — pets who deserve a warm, safe holiday as much as any family member.
Why These Donations Matter
Across the Las Vegas Valley, shelters and rescues are navigating an ongoing crisis of overcrowding and underfunding.
Organizations like SNARL rely heavily on community generosity to provide consistent care for the animals who arrive scared, underweight, abandoned, or in need of medical help.
A small donation can do more than fill a bowl — it can reduce operational pressures, support foster placements, and help staff and volunteers focus resources where they’re needed most.
Paws In Charge Doubles Every Donation
What sets this initiative apart is the powerful impact multiplier:
Paws In Charge will match every contribution by donating dog food of equal value.
A $10 donation toward treats or cat food becomes twice the support, ensuring even more pets receive quality nutrition during one of the heaviest intake periods of the year.
The final delivery of donated items will take place on December 22 directly to SNARL.
Support Across the Rescue Community
While this year’s Giving Trees focus on SNARL, rescues across Southern Nevada — including the longtime community favorite Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation (SNBRF) — recognize how vital these cross-organizational efforts are.
Rescues depend on one another for shared resources, referrals, and emergency support, and when one organization receives help, the entire network benefits.
Efforts like this strengthen the safety net for pets across the region, creating long-term impact beyond the holiday season.
How to Participate
Getting involved is easy, and every donation makes a direct difference:
- Donate $10 for dog treats or cat food anytime between December 2 and December 21 at Paws In Charge.
- Paws In Charge will match your contribution with a dog food donation.
- All donations will be delivered to Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League on December 22.
Whether you give once or multiple times, your contribution directly improves the lives of pets spending the holidays in rescue care.
A Season of Community and Compassion
Las Vegas is known for its generosity, and initiatives like the Holiday Giving Trees highlight just how much can happen when pet lovers, businesses, and rescues work together.
Paws In Charge’s leadership on this project offers a meaningful way to bring comfort to pets who need it most, and reminds us all how powerful small acts of kindness can be.
