The Animal Foundation Celebrates Fee-Waived “Sweet 16” Adoptions with Hill’s Pet Nutrition

The Animal Foundation is joining shelters across the U.S. and Canada for Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s nationwide Sweet 16 Celebration, marking an incredible milestone: 16 million pet adoptions supported through the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program. From December 8–14, every adoptable pet at The Animal Foundation will have their adoption fees fully covered by Hill’s, giving Las Vegas families a meaningful chance to bring home a new companion before the holidays.

For more than two decades, Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love has provided science-led nutrition to over 1,000 animal shelters each day, including the pets in The Animal Foundation’s care. Their partnership helps ensure animals remain healthy, supported, and ready for adoption the moment the right person walks through the door.

What the Celebration Includes

Throughout the week-long event, adopters will receive a Hill’s New Pet Parent Kit designed to make day one a little easier. Each kit includes a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet food, exclusive coupons, and helpful care tips to guide new families through those important first days at home. Combined with fee-waived adoptions, this event aims to remove as many barriers as possible for people ready to adopt.

Because adoption demand increases during special events, early arrival is strongly encouraged. The shelter’s virtual waitlist opens at 8:00 am via the QR code on the adoption lobby door, and capacity may be reached before closing time.

How the Adoption Process Works

Visitors can browse adoptable pets online before heading to the shelter. Upon arrival, guests may walk through the adoption areas or speak with an adoption counselor about a specific pet. For safety and accuracy, the shelter does not offer on-site pet introductions with personal pets, and holds cannot be placed on animals.

All fee-waived adoptions still include spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, and a microchip, ensuring each pet is fully prepared for their new home.
