East Las Vegas Family Dog Park Opens Today on Washington Avenue

The City of Las Vegas officially opened the East Las Vegas Family Dog Park this morning with a community ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m.

The new facility is located at 4484 E. Washington Ave. and serves a part of the city that has long lacked dedicated off-leash space for dogs.

The park features three fully fenced dog runs, each equipped with landscaping, shade structures, seating, lighting, concrete walkways, and two waterers. A perimeter fence runs the length of the property.

City Councilwoman Olivia Diaz championed the project for the neighborhood.

“Many families living near the East Las Vegas Family Park asked for a dog-friendly space for their four-legged friends,” Diaz said in a statement last week.

“I am thrilled that this project is now complete and ready for our residents and their dogs to enjoy.”

The park is a welcome addition to the east valley, which has fewer gated dog runs than other parts of the city. We previewed the opening earlier this week with details on timing and amenities.

The East Las Vegas Family Dog Park is now open to the public. No reservation is required.
