Dog Birthday Cakes and Nylon Free Chews Headline New Products at SuperZoo 2026

Published August 13, 2026

More than 1,100 new pet products are debuting this week at SuperZoo, the pet industry’s largest trade show, which is taking place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center through Thursday.

The show is not open to the public, but several exhibitors gave local television station KLAS 8 News Now an early look at what is landing on the floor.

Among the standouts is Evanger‘s new Happy Cake for Dogs & Cats, a build your own birthday cake made with chicken and pumpkin layers and topped with a small party hat.

Evanger’s Vice President Chelsea Sher demonstrated the product for the station.

Three Dog Bakery also showed off its lineup, including a seasonal candy cane cookie that CEO Kristi Ross confirmed will return to store shelves this holiday season.

The company was founded in Kansas City in 1989 to make treats for a deaf Great Dane, and it has since grown into a network of more than 40 retail bakery franchises nationwide.

Chew toys got attention too. BetterBone is showing off dog chews made without nylon, using natural, plant based ingredients designed to flake apart rather than splinter during chewing.

SuperZoo has been run by the World Pet Association since 1950, making this its 76th year.

Last year’s show generated an estimated $55 million in economic impact for Las Vegas and drew more than 22,000 pet industry participants, according to Pets+ Magazine.

For 2026, organizers updated the New Product Showcase Award categories to emphasize smart technology, wellness care, functional nutrition, sustainability, and mobility.

Those categories track with broader industry trends, as total U.S. pet industry spending reached $158 billion in 2025 and is projected to climb to $165 billion this year, with dog ownership now reaching 53 percent of U.S. households.

While SuperZoo itself is trade only, we previously reported on the show’s return to Mandalay Bay, noting that many local pet businesses, groomers, and rescue organizations rely on the event each year to source products and meet suppliers.

The show wraps Thursday, and new products revealed on the floor typically begin appearing in local pet stores in the months that follow.

Local dog owners will not be able to walk the show floor themselves, but the products debuting this week, from cellulose based chews to made to order birthday cakes, are likely to show up in Las Vegas pet supply aisles well before next year’s event, reports KLAS 8 News Now.
