Henderson Animal Protection Services is offering half off adoption fees for dogs 6 months and older from October 1 through October 31, according to KSNV. The discount marks Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.

The shelter is at 300 E. Galleria Drive and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoptions are finalized by 4:30 p.m., and the shelter is closed on Sundays and government-recognized holidays.

Unlike the Nevada Humane Society offer we covered earlier this week, this one is in the Las Vegas valley, so local adopters do not need to travel to Reno or Carson City. Puppies younger than 6 months are not included.

The promotion follows Henderson’s August Clear the Shelters event, which also offered half-off fees. That event ended with 90 dogs and 34 cats adopted, according to the city.
