Whether you’re involved in an organization yourself or simply want to uplift local heroes, your advocacy could help a deserving nonprofit walk away with up to $20,000 this year.
SpotOn’s Animal Welfare Grant: Funding Innovation & Impact
The heart of SpotOn’s grant program lies in its celebration of innovation, creativity, and the hands-on efforts that make animal lives better. This is far more than a contest — it’s a recognition of the hard work happening every day to save, enrich, and protect the lives of dogs, as well as to champion accessible community programs and forward-thinking service dog partnerships. And yes — organizations operating right here Las Vegas and throughout Nevada are eligible to throw their hats into the ring for this remarkable funding opportunity.

This year, SpotOn is dividing its $100,000 grant pool across four core categories, ensuring a wide variety of organizations can find the right fit for their work. There are eight grants in total up for grabs:

Application Timeline: Key Dates to Remember
Timing is everything, so you’ll want to mark your calendar. Applications for the SpotOn Grants opened on July 9, 2025, and will remain open until August 22, 2025. Once the deadline passes, SpotOn will review the submissions and announce finalists on September 5, 2025. Each finalist must then submit a short video by September 23 to help bring their story to life. The final step is public voting — running from September 25 through October 20 — so prepare to rally your supporters! Grant winners will be revealed on October 23, 2025. There’s a very real chance that your voice, and those of the local community, could tip the scales in favor of your favorite group.
What Makes a Strong Candidate?
SpotOn is seeking organizations that are deeply mission-driven, focused on their local communities, and ready to demonstrate adaptability and creativity. While the emphasis is on dogs, broader animal welfare non-profits are certainly encouraged to apply if their work aligns with the goals of the grant. If you’re wondering whether your group is a fit, ask these core questions: Are you a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to animal welfare, especially regarding dogs? Are you actively operating as a shelter, rescue organization, or service dog program? Can you highlight concrete examples of your local impact, unique outreach programs, or lifesaving efforts? Do you have clear, actionable plans for what you would do with $20,000 to take your services to the next level? Are you demonstrating creative thinking, adaptability, or a spirit of innovation within animal welfare? And finally, are you prepared to submit a compelling 1–2 minute video and rally your supporters for community voting? If you’re nodding “yes” to most or all of these, your organization is a contender.
Let’s Put Las Vegas Animal Heroes in the Spotlight
There’s no shortage of hardworking and inspirational animal organizations in Las Vegas, but too many miss out on national recognition and resources simply because no one shares their story beyond state lines. If you know a shelter, rescue, or service dog nonprofit making waves in our city, send this article their way. Mention it in your next conversation, tag them on social, or shoot a quick message to their directors or volunteers. Sometimes it only takes a small nudge to give a deserving group the push it needs to compete and win. And if you’re part of a qualifying organization yourself? Don’t wait — get your application in by August 22 and start planning your outreach strategy for when community voting kicks off this fall.
