Las Vegas dogs can watch their team take on the El Paso Chihuahuas this week, and no, that is not a joke.
The Aviators host their next Bark in the Berm night on Wednesday, July 22, with first pitch at 7:05 PM at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, and full details are on the Aviators’ Bark in the Berm page.
Dog owners need two tickets to take part, a regular berm ticket for themselves and a dog berm ticket for their pup.
Every dollar from dog ticket sales is donated to The Animal Foundation, which makes this one of the easiest ways in town to support the valley’s largest shelter while having a night out.
Entry works a little differently than a normal game. Dogs and their owners must enter through the Centerfield gates on Spruce Goose Street, which open one hour before first pitch at 6:05 PM.
At the gate, owners sign a waiver confirming their dog is up to date on the rabies, DHLP, parvo, and Bordetella vaccinations.
Dogs must be at least six months old, in good health, and comfortable around crowds, strangers, and other dogs.
Owners bringing two or more dogs need an additional adult to help handle them, toys such as frisbees and balls are not allowed, and the Aviators reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog.
The evening start helps with the July heat, but the desert does not fully cool off by first pitch.
Bring water for your dog, test the pavement on the walk in, and keep an eye out for heavy panting as the night goes on.
Wednesday marks the fourth of seven Bark in the Berm dates this season.
We previewed the series in June when the Aviators hosted the Round Rock Express with dogs on the berm, and the format has stayed the same since.
Three more chances remain after this week if Wednesday does not work.
