Coffee Dates for a Cause – Inside The Animal Foundation’s February Foster Field Trip Program

Throughout February, The Animal Foundation is giving select shelter dogs a much-needed break from kennel life through its Foster Field Trip Coffee Break program. Running daily through February 28, this initiative highlights three to five high-priority dogs each day who benefit most from time outside the shelter environment.
What the Field Trip Includes
Participants take one dog at a time on a short coffee outing, complete with a puppuccino, along with real-world photos and brief videos that capture each dog’s personality beyond the kennel. These outings help dogs decompress while creating meaningful content that supports foster and adoption efforts.
Support Provided
The Animal Foundation provides everything needed for a smooth experience, including a $5 Starbucks gift card, safety gear, car protection, and clean-up supplies. Volunteers can focus on spending quality time with the dog while helping share their story.
How to Participate
Interested participants can stop by the Field Trip Window in the adoptions lobby to meet the day’s coffee date dogs and start their outing. While brief, these February field trips play an important role in helping dogs stand out and move closer to finding a foster or forever home.
