Las Vegas dogs will have a chance to make a splash before summer comes to an end when Clark County Parks & Recreation brings back its popular Dog Daze of Summer event on Saturday, September 5th.

The event gives pups the opportunity to swim and play in the Desert Breeze Pool before the outdoor pool is cleaned and shut down for the fall. Along with pool time, dog parents can check out vendors, enter raffles and compete for prizes during a morning designed specifically for local dogs and the people who love them.

Swim Sessions Are Organized by Dog Size

To help give dogs a more comfortable swimming experience, the event will be divided into three sessions based on size.

Small dogs under 30 pounds will swim from 7 to 8 a.m. Medium dogs weighing 30 to 65 pounds will take over the pool from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., followed by large dogs weighing 65 pounds and over from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Registration Is Required

Dog Daze of Summer costs $10 per dog, and advance registration is required. There will be no walk-up registration for the event.

Registration must be completed by 8 p.m. on September 1.

Dog parents will also need to provide proof of vaccinations and completed waivers. Those documents must be emailed to [email protected] by September 2.

One Last Splash Before Fall

For dogs who love the water, Dog Daze of Summer offers a chance to cool off, socialize and enjoy a pool that is temporarily going to the dogs before its seasonal shutdown.

With separate swim times based on size, vendors, raffles and prizes planned throughout the event, it is a fun way for Las Vegas dog families to close out the summer with one more splash.
