Henderson Cuts Adoption Fees in Half for Senior Pets All November
Henderson Animal Protection Services is offering half off adoption fees throughout November for pets seven years and older, according to FOX5 Las Vegas.
The discount marks Senior Pet Month and applies to adoptable senior pets at the city shelter, including dogs.
Adoptions take place at Henderson Animal Protection Services, 300 E. Galleria Drive, Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Adoptions are finalized by 4:30 PM, and the facility is closed Sundays and government-recognized holidays.
City officials say senior pets are often calmer and sometimes already trained, which can make them a good fit for a wide range of lifestyles.
For many dog owners, that means skipping the puppy stage while still gaining a loyal companion.
Adoptable animals can be viewed on the City of Henderson website before visiting the shelter.
Because the discount covers the whole month, adopters have time to meet a few dogs and find the right match.
The November offer follows the city’s October promotion, when Henderson cut adoption fees in half for dogs 6 months and older for Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.
This month’s discount shifts the focus to older animals, which are often the ones who wait longest for a home.
Senior dogs have received extra attention from Henderson’s shelter community before.
Earlier this year, a local family sponsored senior dog adoptions in memory of their dog Tilly through Friends of Henderson Animal Support.
