Diners in North Las Vegas can help local rescue animals just by picking up dinner this week. El Pollo Loco will donate 20 percent of eligible sales to Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League on Thursday, August 27.

The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the restaurant’s location at 2923 West Craig Road. Customers must present the event flyer at checkout, whether they dine in or use the drive-through, for their purchase to count toward the donation.

Tax, gift card, catering, and kiosk purchases are not eligible for the promotion. Organizers ask supporters to bring the flyer either printed or saved on a phone screen to make sure their order is counted.

Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League, known locally as SNARL, works to rescue and place homeless dogs and cats throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

The nonprofit has leaned on community fundraisers this year, including a community yard sale meant to help erase emergency veterinary debt and a Panda Express dine-to-donate event.
