Street Dogz Seeks Community’s Help Replacing Aging Van to Continue Lifesaving Pet Outreach Across Las Vegas Valley

For many animal welfare organizations, a reliable vehicle is just as important as food, medical supplies, or volunteer support. That’s why Las Vegas-based Street Dogz is asking the community for help finding a dependable used van that can keep its lifesaving work moving throughout Southern Nevada.

The nonprofit is looking for a reliable used van, any year and any mileage, with one simple requirement: it runs well. Their budget is $8,000 or less, and they’re also accepting tax-deductible donations to help purchase a replacement if a donated vehicle isn’t available.

A Critical Tool for Daily Outreach

Street Dogz is best known for serving people experiencing homelessness and helping them care for the pets they love. Throughout the year, the organization provides pet food, veterinary care, vaccinations, supplies, and other essential resources that help keep pets healthy while preserving the bond between owners and their animals.

The nonprofit estimates it helps more than 2,000 pets each year, while its outreach efforts connect with hundreds of families across Southern Nevada every month.

Their previous outreach vehicle, a 2007 van, is no longer running reliably, forcing volunteers to rely on personal vehicles when needed. While that keeps services moving, it also makes transporting donated supplies, pet food, crates, kennels, and dogs needing veterinary appointments or emergency care more challenging.

In its appeal to the community, Street Dogz shared:

Every mile this van drives means more dogs fed, more pets vaccinated, and more families kept together.

Why One Van Makes a Big Difference

Transportation is one of the least visible, but most essential expenses for nonprofits working in animal welfare.

Beyond the purchase price, organizations must also cover fuel, insurance, registration, maintenance, tires, oil changes, and unexpected repairs. Without a dependable vehicle, volunteers often absorb those costs by using their own cars, limiting efficiency and placing additional wear on personal vehicles.

For Street Dogz, reliable transportation is especially important because its outreach spans the entire Las Vegas Valley, delivering food and supplies, transporting pets to veterinary appointments, collecting donations, and reaching people and animals where help is needed most.

A reliable van isn’t simply transportation, it’s an essential part of the organization’s ability to serve the community.

How the Community Can Help

Street Dogz is currently seeking:

  • A reliable used van (any year or mileage) for $8,000 or less.
  • A donated vehicle from an individual or business. As a registered 501(c)(3), qualifying vehicle donations may be tax-deductible.
  • Monetary donations to help purchase a replacement vehicle.

The organization says it has already reached out to several dealerships but has not yet found a suitable van.
