20th Annual Dog Daze of Summer is Here

Dive In: September 6th Event Makes a Splash in Las Vegas

Las Vegas pups, get ready to jump in, the 20th Annual Dog Daze of Summer is back at the Desert Breeze Aquatic Facility on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Every year, this tail-wagging tradition gives dogs their once-a-year chance to take over the pool before it’s drained for the season. For local pet parents, it’s become one of the most beloved end-of-summer rituals in the valley.

Clark County Parks & Recreation first launched the Dog Daze of Summer in 2005, and the event has grown steadily into a community favorite. What makes it special? For one morning only, dogs of all shapes and sizes get the run (and splash) of the pool while their humans cheer them on from the sidelines. It’s pure joy, wrapped up in a few hours of paw-sitive energy, community spirit, and a lot of wet fur.

Rules to Keep Things Cool

While the event is meant to be all fun, there are a few guidelines to make sure everyone stays safe:

  • Dogs only in the pool — no owners allowed in the water.
  • Dogs must remain leashed outside the aquatic facility.
  • Only well-socialized dogs who play nicely with others are welcome.
  • Proof of vaccinations is required for every participating dog.

Beyond the Pool

The Dog Daze of Summer isn’t just about splashing around. The morning also features pet-friendly vendors, raffles, and prizes, making it a great outing even when your pup takes a break from the water. Over the years, it’s become a mini community fair where dog lovers connect, swap stories, and discover local resources.

And with this year marking the 20th anniversary, it’s a milestone celebration of just how much Las Vegas values its four-legged residents. What began as a fun way to close out the pool season has become one of the valley’s longest-running traditions for dogs and their families.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

If your pup loves the water, this is the event of the year. Spots for medium and large dogs are already filling fast, but there’s still plenty of space for small dogs to join in. Whether you’re a first-timer or a longtime attendee, it’s one of those uniquely local experiences that truly belongs to the Las Vegas dog community.

So grab your leash, your camera, and your dog’s favorite towel — because once a year, the pool is theirs. And after two decades of wagging tails and happy splashes, the Dog Daze of Summer is proof that some traditions never get old.

Register now before September 4 and make sure your pup doesn’t miss the splash party of the season: Clark County Parks Registration
