Turn Halloween Candy Into Homes: SNARL’s Sweet Mission to Help Las Vegas Rescue Pets

This Halloween, one Las Vegas rescue is putting a creative twist on trick-or-treating — and it’s just as heartwarming as it is clever.

SNARL (Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League) has launched a Candy & Treat Drive designed to help their adoptable animals get noticed in the most festive way possible. Every donated piece of candy or treat will feature a sticker with the face of an adoptable dog or cat, turning ordinary Halloween handouts into tiny, paw-powered billboards for pets who need homes.

And this isn’t your average neighborhood event. SNARL will be participating in a massive Trunk or Treat celebration on October 30, where organizers expect upwards of 15,000 trick-or-treaters. That’s 15,000 chances for a rescue animal’s face to be seen, remembered, and maybe even adopted — all through something as simple as a piece of candy.

A Sweet Way to Support Local Rescue Pets

SNARL’s goal is simple: use one of the year’s most social holidays to spark connections between people and pets. It’s a creative reminder that even small actions — like donating a bag of treats — can ripple out into life-changing moments for animals waiting in shelters.

SNARL is currently collecting bags of individually wrapped candy, drinks, and treats suitable for trick-or-treaters. Every donation helps create more opportunities for these amazing animals to find their forever families.

Become an Official “Treat Distributor”

Want to take your support a step further? SNARL is looking for about 30 enthusiastic volunteers to serve as official Treat Distributors — residents who live in high-traffic neighborhoods or plan to attend trunk-or-treat events this Halloween.

The rescue will provide the stickered candy; all you have to do is hand it out! It’s a simple, fun, and impactful way to help spread the word about adoptable pets while making Halloween even more meaningful.
