There are plenty of dog-friendly hotels in Las Vegas. But what if the one you’re hoping to stay at isn’t on the list? Perhaps you could just smuggle your four-legged friend in? We wouldn’t recommend it. Doing so could actually result in you being charged with a misdemeanor under NRS 205.240, for falsely representing yourself or your need to gain accommodations.
Less serious repercussions include the hotel evicting you from your room, and not providing you a refund of either the cost of your stay or your security deposit, if you were required to place one. If you’re fortunate enough to be allowed to stay, you may be charged a pet fee or an additional cleaning charge, which can range from anywhere from $100 to several hundreds of dollars.
You could also find yourself blacklisted from not just the hotel itself, but the chain if it’s a part of one. Take MGM, for example. It owns or operates twelve hotels on the Las Vegas strip. Dogs are allowed at all of them (consult our list of MGM dog-friendly hotels in Las Vegas for reference), but breaking one of its rules could see you banned from all of them, plus some of its other properties dotted across the city.
It’s not worth the risk or hassle. We’ve cataloged more than a hundred dog-friendly hotels in Las Vegas, and we’re always adding more to the list, as more and more properties are jumping aboard the dog-loving bandwagon (and so they should). Your best bet is to stay at one of those. Almost all of them have dedicated dog-relief areas and some supply beds, bowls, treats and even have dedicated pup menus.
Your canine companion will thank you.
