Dog Lovers Unite as Holiday Giving Drive Brings Hope to a Struggling Family

When Norton Dog Training launched its Holiday Giving Drive earlier this month, the Las Vegas community responded with generosity that continues to grow. What began as a simple effort to support one family through a difficult year has become a reminder of how deeply this city shows up for one another.

A Year of Hardship for One Local Family

The family at the center of the drive — Nicole W., John W., and their three children — experienced several setbacks in a short span of time. A car accident with an uninsured driver left Nicole paying on a vehicle she no longer has. Soon after, their landlord sold their home and they were given 30 days to move. They found a new place, but not long after, Nicole’s work hours were cut significantly.

In her letter to Norton Dog Training, Nicole shared: “I’ve never felt so defeated in my life. The thought of not being able to give my kids a Christmas crushed me and I know crushed my husband too.”

Gratitude From the Family

Nicole described the moment she saw her children sleeping on mattresses on the floor, sharing how meaningful even the smallest items felt during this time. She wrote: “Just knowing they’ll have bed frames, something so simple and yet something that truly brought me to tears, I can’t express how grateful we are.”
