How Paw Partners Unleashed Is Powering a New Era of Rescue Support in Southern Nevada

Every animal rescue in Las Vegas shares the same uphill battle: too many pets, not enough resources. But one local nonprofit has quietly become the lifeline behind more than 60 animal rescues and community organizations across the valley. Meet Paw Partners Unleashed — a 501(c)(3) with a unique mission: to make saving lives more sustainable for the people doing it every day.

Born in 2016 as a grassroots Meetup group collecting supplies for overwhelmed rescues, Paw Partners Unleashed has evolved into a cornerstone of the animal welfare community in Southern Nevada. Their work goes beyond basic donations. This is a group that mobilizes funding, distributes necessities to underserved pet owners, and creates real systems that make long-term rescue work possible. They’re not running their own shelter — they’re strengthening the entire ecosystem around the shelters that already exist. And in a city where overcrowding, cost, and burnout are always looming, that support can mean the difference between survival and collapse.
“Our whole mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need,” the team shared. “That means supporting rescues, assisting underserved pet owners, and creating partnerships that allow everyone in the system to thrive.”
The Power of One Litter
The story starts in the simplest way possible: a foster home, a litter of puppies, and a foster mom who couldn’t believe how expensive it was to care for just a handful of lives. After fostering a single litter for a local rescue, the founder of Paw Partners Unleashed saw firsthand the sheer volume of supplies needed to keep animals healthy. Food. Bedding. Cleaning supplies. Vet visits. Toys. Pee pads. The list went on.
That experience sparked a question: What if there was a way to remove some of that burden from rescues? Not by taking in dogs themselves — but by supplying the people who already were.
That simple idea snowballed. Within six months, what started as a Meetup group had become a fully registered nonprofit. Word spread quickly through the rescue world. Instead of one group collecting donations for one shelter, Paw Partners Unleashed began building relationships with dozens of rescues at once. They weren’t stepping into the spotlight — they were shining it on everyone else doing the work, and asking how they could help make it easier.
Pins for Paws and a Priceless Vet Bill Lifeline
If there’s one thing Paw Partners Unleashed is known for in the Las Vegas rescue world, it’s Pins for Paws — a monthly bowling fundraiser that’s become a must-watch event for rescue supporters across the city. Unlike typical fundraisers, this one is structured with precision: rescues enrolled in the group’s Rescue Partner Program are entered into a randomized drawing to be selected as the Rescue of the Month. When chosen, they become the direct beneficiary of that month’s bowling event — and 100% of the proceeds are paid straight to their designated vet hospital.
That structure matters. Veterinary care is one of the largest expenses for any rescue, and for groups already scraping together funds for food, transport, and foster coordination, it can be the thing that breaks the budget. Since launching Pins for Paws in 2018, Paw Partners Unleashed has donated more than $129,000 toward veterinary care — and counting.

It’s not just about dollars raised, either. Pins for Paws brings people together. Rescuers, fosters, adopters, volunteers, even tourists who stumble upon the event after seeing it on social media — they all show up, bowl a few frames, and leave knowing they’ve helped an animal get the care they need.
From Supplies to Stability
Beyond fundraising, Paw Partners Unleashed is known for its year-round supply drives, distributing food, litter, crates, enrichment items, and basic care essentials to shelters, rescues, and underserved pet owners throughout Southern Nevada. With designated drop-off locations stationed across the valley, it’s become easy for people to donate gently used or new supplies and know they’ll go exactly where they’re needed.
Their focus on underserved populations also sets them apart. Through partnerships with local community groups, they’ve helped seniors, low-income pet owners, and people facing temporary hardship stay connected to their pets. Whether it’s delivering food to a senior center or helping a family bridge the gap during a tough month, Paw Partners Unleashed sees their work not just as animal rescue — but as community care.
“We believe that every animal deserves a loving home,” they explained. “And sometimes, the best way to keep animals out of the shelter is to support the people who already love them.”
Education, Collaboration, and a Long-Term Mission
What makes Paw Partners Unleashed so effective is their commitment to collaboration over competition. They’re not trying to be the biggest or loudest name in animal rescue — they’re trying to be the most useful. That includes volunteer education, community outreach, and constant collaboration with the groups they support. Their website and events offer valuable resources to people looking to get involved, and every new partnership brings more strength to the network.
They’re also uniquely positioned to offer opportunities for people who want to help but don’t know how. Volunteering with Paw Partners Unleashed gives locals a chance to contribute in hands-on, tangible ways — collecting supplies, assisting at events, spreading the word online, and being part of a bigger solution.
And even with Las Vegas’s revolving door of visitors, the group has seen out-of-towners jump in to help just the same. People vacationing in Vegas have shown up to Pins for Paws after finding it in Las Vegas Pet Scene Magazine or stumbling across it on Facebook. That kind of unexpected participation is just another reminder of how universal the desire to help animals really is.

Collaboration Is the Heartbeat
“For us, it’s about collaboration,” the team told us. “We believe that every animal should have a loving home. Through productive partnerships, we can all work together to achieve a common goal of reducing the number of animals entering the shelter system.”
That’s the philosophy driving every supply drive, every bowling night, and every bag of food placed into the hands of a pet parent who needs it. It’s not flashy. It’s not corporate. It’s not meant to scale nationally overnight. But it is saving lives — and helping the people who’ve committed their lives to doing the same.
