This Valentine’s, Find Love with Four Legs at Nevada Humane Society

Valentine’s Day isn’t just for humans — this year, love comes with fur, wagging tails, and plenty of puppy kisses. The Nevada Humane Society is inviting the public to make their Valentine’s plans extra special by spending the day with a shelter pup through their weeklong Dog Date adoption event.

From Sunday, February 8, through Saturday, February 14, prospective adopters can choose the type of dog that best matches their heart and lifestyle:

  • Sunday, 2/8 – Old Souls, Big Hearts: Senior dogs ready to share years of love
  • Monday, 2/9 – Love Me Loud: Energetic pups looking for an active companion
  • Tuesday, 2/10 – Capitol Crush: Dogs from the Carson City campus
  • Wednesday, 2/11 – Our Crushes: Staff-picked favorites
  • Thursday, 2/12 – Still Waiting for Love: Long-term residents hoping for a forever home
  • Friday, 2/13 – Tiny Tails, Big Love: Small dogs with huge personalities
  • Saturday, 2/14 – Love Takes Time: Shy dogs who need gentle hearts

Except for Tuesday’s Capitol Crush event, all Dog Dates will be hosted at the Reno campus. Guests can select a day that works best for them and enjoy a fun, low-pressure way to meet potential new family members.

“The Dog Date program is all about making adoption fun while helping our animals find the perfect match,” said Nevada Humane Society representatives. “Whether you’re looking for an energetic playmate or a calm companion, there’s a Valentine waiting for everyone.”

Interested adopters can book their Dog Date and find more details at: nevadahumanesociety.org

Make this Valentine’s one to remember — share your heart, and maybe a home, with a four-legged friend.
