More Than 40 Animals Seized From Henderson Home Allegedly Running Illegal Nonprofit

Henderson Animal Protection Services removed more than 40 animals from a home near Galleria Drive and Eastgate Road on Wednesday after a caller reported unsafe and unsanitary conditions, reports Fox5 Vegas.
Officers also discovered a nonprofit animal organization, identified in reports as Street to Sanctuary, was operating from the residence in violation of city ordinances.
The animals recovered included dogs, cats, birds, turtles, ferrets, and other species. Cat towers and cages were observed outside the property following the response.
Several animals required urgent medical care upon arrival at the City of Henderson Animal Protection facility, including treatment for contagious diseases.
All are being monitored closely by city veterinary staff.
The individual responsible for the conditions will be cited under city ordinances, officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the total number of animals involved may change as more information becomes available.
Once medically cleared, the animals will be made available for adoption through the city shelter or partner rescue organizations.
Residents can visit the adoptions portal on the City of Henderson website for updates on animals available for placement.
The city reminded residents that local ordinances limit the number of animals permitted per household and that running an animal organization from a private residence without proper authorization violates city code.
These standards, officials said, are in place to protect animal health and welfare and to ensure safe, humane care.
