Pipeline Malasadas is running its “DOGust Donation Drive” for the Nevada SPCA through Saturday, August 30, marking the second year the Las Vegas malasada shop has partnered with the shelter for a month of giving.

Customers who bring unopened donations to the Southwest Las Vegas location can help stock the shelves for homeless dogs and cats while they are at it.

Accepted items include dog and cat food, peanut butter, leashes, harnesses, collars, clean towels, blankets, sheets without pillows or comforters, and kitty litter.

Each donor receives one raffle ticket per person per day, redeemable for a chance to win a $100 Pipeline Malasadas gift card.

The raffle winner will be announced Wednesday, September 3. Donations can be dropped off during business hours at Pipeline Malasadas, located at 6945 South Buffalo Drive, Unit 100, near the 215 Beltway.

Store hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The shop is also rolling out limited-time flavor promotions tied to the cause, including a Li Hing Sugar with Mango Filling malasada available only on August 1 for National DOGust and again on August 26 for National Dog Day, with half of those days’ sales donated directly to Nevada SPCA.

The partnership was first reported by KLAS, which noted this is the second consecutive year the two have joined forces to help save shelter dogs.

It follows a similar pattern to other local business partnerships Nevada SPCA has run this year, including a chimichanga fundraiser with Tacotarian earlier this summer.

Nevada SPCA and other Southern Nevada shelters have faced sustained overcrowding this summer, a pressure this site has tracked as Clear the Shelters returns this August for its 12th year.

Nevada SPCA has operated as Las Vegas’ original no-kill shelter since 1982 and takes in more than 2,000 dogs, cats, and other small pets annually.

Community donation drives like this one help offset the cost of caring for animals waiting on adoption during the shelter’s busiest season.
