Firefighters Rescue Two Dogs from Southwest Las Vegas House Fire

Clark County firefighters rescued two dogs from a smoke-filled home in the southwest Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday, November 3, reports KSNV News 3 Las Vegas.

Both dogs were removed safely and treated at the scene.

The fire was reported around 10 a.m. on the 6900 block of Amethyst Peak Street, near Maule Avenue and Fort Apache Road.

Crews used hoses to confine and extinguish the blaze, which was brought under control quickly.

Firefighters found the dogs while searching the home for anyone inside. Reports did not say what kind of treatment the dogs received or how they are doing now.

Reports also did not mention any injuries to people. Clark County Senior Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Holding said the cause of the fire is undetermined.

It is the latest in a run of dog rescues from house fires across the valley.

Firefighters pulled a dog from a burning garage in the east valley on September 21, as we reported at the time.

North Las Vegas firefighters also rescued two dogs from an early morning house fire on June 18.

Dogs do not always make it out on their own, so it helps to know what to do before an emergency.
